Happy 10 in 2010

How cute, my first tag from a fellow blogger!  I am excited!  Artsy_momma at Handprint and Footprint Art tagged me in the Happy 101 Award.  Awww... I love talking about the "h" word, what a cute idea! Thank you!!!!  I am honored you picked me to tag!

 For this award, you are to list 10 things that make you happy, then tag another 10 people.

1.) Shopping for myself and by myself ='s no kiddos with me.

2.) Watching the expression on someone's face when you have done something nice for them or given them a treat.

3.) Watching my kids in a quiet moment and realizing that God blessed me with the best gifts, their lives.

4.) Knowing that God blessed me with a life full of great friends who seem to be planted in my life in all the right moments. 

5.) Hearing good things about how Teaching Heart products make the lives of k-3 teachers less stressful or how much the kids loved an activity from the site or a product. 

6.) Radom acts of kindness either given or recieved.  A few weeks ago, I was in the drivethru at Starbucks (for hopefully my last Mint Cafe Mocha EVER! - Note my New Years Clean Eating Life - Blahhhh!) and saw a Mom in her car behind me yelling at her kids.  I asked what she had purchased when I got to the window and it was just a small drink... so I asked if I could pay for it.  I told the worker to just tell the mom that this is from a mom who has been there and to pay it forward someday.  I never got to see her reaction... but it made me feel really good all day thinking about the smile that may have been on her face.   It is one of those great feelings - if you have never done that... give it a try!  On the other side of it...  Yesterday I was in the store buying Soy Milk for my coffee and someone had left a dollar off coupon by the milk.  I was so happy and thankful! 

7.) Watching my husband interact with the kids.  He is a kid at heart and I find myself thinking how lucky my kids are to have a Daddy like him.

8.) Those moments (that are sometimes  more few than often) when I know I am a SUPER mom! 

9.) ALL THINGS Fall!

10.) Seeing the numbers on my scale shrink!!!  Fingers Crossed =)

I know I am busy... There isn't much time left before the big day. There is still so much to do at my house. One of the most difficult things to do is keep the kids busy while you do your to-do list. Here are a few sites that may help with that...

Fall is Coming

Yesterday we were trimming trees and we found some red leaves... o, my! Fall is coming. I love Fall, it is my favorite season. I just wish winter did not follow fall. If we could skip winter all together, that would be fabulous in my book. Back to fall; I love all the fun activities at the local farms (Trax, Simmons, Triple B), I love the craft fairs(Covered Bridge, Washington County Holiday Fair), I love mums, I love Halloween, and I love the cool feeling in the air... I could go on and on about all the great things fall has to offer.

I thought it would be a great idea to revisit traveling with kids, since I am getting ready to spend about 30 hours in the car... Don't worry, I am an old pro! Thought I would take a moment to share some great links. I have big plans to share my traveling with kids tips this summer. I am working on a post that shares some great tips. Until then, these links should help a bit. Keep checking for my tips and happy traveling...

One of my favorite gal pals (Ms. Amy) shared Geocaching, a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment. Looks like a great idea! Go check it out.

Along the same lines... be sure to stop by your local Triple A before a trip and pick up a trip-tick. A trip-tic is a map book that outlines your route. We rely on our GPS now, but this keeps my son super busy and he can tell us where to turn before the GPS does!!!

The web host has done a great job compiling travel games by age. Babies can definitely travel by car. They are too young to say, “He’s touching me!” If your kids are older and less tolerant many more ideas are here too. There are lots of printables to for those times when you are in the car. We personally have used the tinfoil modeling idea. It is great!

My Son will be on a hunt this trip... armed with a clipboard, highlighter, and this map. Let's see how many license plates he will find!

A Hodge Podge Found Out in The Blogging World

A few months ago I ventured out of my familiar Internet website world and entered the world of blogging… I was looking for birthday party ideas for my sons Star Wars party. I found that if I searched “Star Wars Party Ideas” + blogs that many great blogging websites with awesome ideas appeared. Then became my quest of learning about the blogging world and come 8:30 when the kids are in bed – I grab my tea & my laptop and start exploring all these great places! Thought I would share a Hodge podge of what I have found & want to do.
